To Be List?
Very simple task and time management. The basics. Get a pad of paper and write down what you need to do. Jump to the advanced level by setting them in priority, time to complete them, and the time of day to get it done. Check them off. Pat yourself on the back at the end of the day.
Now, there are lots of electronic ways to do the same thing. You can set up an alarm system to alert you to stay on task. But it really is the same idea. Got stuff to do. Your job may even depend on it. So get going and have at it--fill that list out and start over the next day.
To Be List...
Tell me—exactly how do you feel after days of doing the To Do
lists? Sorta like a hamster running around
a cage and wondering why you are doing it?
Maybe that feeling tells us that we are not supposed to be automatons
just doing tasks.
That’s why we need the “To
Be List.”
What in the world?
Yeah, that’s what it says and means—just what do you need to do to
really be yourself? So that you feel
like YOU? Every day, list a few things
you can do that really mean a lot to you—that leave you as YOU. I keep capitalizing that YOU to accentuate the
priority of your self care. Only you can
commit to taking care of yourself.
What’s on my list?
Walk & Pray, Create & Care—in a specific
act(s).
Check out this poem by the famous writer “Anonymous” and it
could be about any of us. I am willing
to bet that these gifts should be on anyone’s “To Be List.”
I wish for you
Comfort on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm you heart,
Gentle hugs when spirits sag,
Friendship to brighten your being,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Confidence for when you doubt,
Faith so you can believe,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth,
And "LOVE" To complete your life.
