Aldus Dumbledore, Wizard |
Words are...
in my
not-so-humble opinion,
our most inexhaustible source of magic.
Capable of both
inflicting injury,
and remedying it.
Aldus Dumbledore
Deadly Hallows, Part 2
The JK Rowling wisdom may be that the closer we come to our humanity the more we touch our divinity. If not her, then Elizabeth O'Conner did say that. The point is that what we see in the world of magic actually lies within our grasp, Even more so--if we claim our heritage as created in the image of God, well then...Jesus, "the Word" (John 1) becomes human flesh and blood to become one of us--to say once and for all that God creates out of love for us to be loving. The wisdom of wizard Dumbledore is that there is power in our words...to forgive, to heal, to accept, to proclaim truth--and ah, what a responsibility that is!
James 3:8 spares no words, does it!
but no one can tame the tongue—
a restless evil,
full of deadly poison.
And therefore, your words can be a cup that runs over with words of eternal life, a river that makes the heart glad forever, one that lives in praise of God.
